Actor Sam Neill, who has died at the age of 78, was best known for starring in the Jurassic Park movies – which were the tip of the iceberg of a long and varied career that ranged from Hollywood blockbusters to acclaimed arthouse films.

After a long gap, the franchise returned with different actors for a modern trilogy of Jurassic World movies from 2015 onwards, but the original stars returned for one last hurrah in 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion.
