Arsenal could make the surprise decision to swap Viktor Gyokeres for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez this summer, according to Marca.

The Gunners are long-term admirers of Alvarez, and they have been handed a boost with Atletico reluctant to sell him to Barcelona this summer.

The Spanish giants are open to sanctioning his sale to a foreign club and Marca claim that a part-exchange could be on the cards with Arsenal.

Diego Simeone‘s side are huge admirers of Gyokeres. He could be used as a makeweight by the Gunners to land the World Cup winner this summer.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has been a big fan of the Argentine, and he is said to be driving the club’s pursuit of the former Manchester City man.

Compared to Gyokeres, Alvarez is a much better finisher and suits the Gunners’ set-up with his chance creation and link-up play as well.

Arsenal may need to pay Â£80m on top of Gyokeres to land Alvarez.
