Arsenal preparing fourth bid for Bruno Guimaraes

Arsenal are preparing a fourth bid for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to UOL in Brazil.

The Gunners are determined to sign a marquee defensive midfielder this summer and have earmarked Guimaraes as the prime target.

The Brazil international has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners, but the Magpies continue to play hardball over the final price.

They have already turned down bids worth £55m, £65m and £70m for the 28-year-old, but the Gunners have not given up on landing him yet.

The club are continuing to hold talks with the Magpies through intermediaries and could be prepared to spend another £10m.

There is a belief that the Magpies will eventually sanction his sale for around £80m as a sign of gratitude for his behaviour recently.

Unlike Alexander Isak, Guimaraes has not looked to force through an exit and continues to respect the decisions made by the Magpies.

He is patiently waiting for the clubs to come to an agreement.
