Arsenal have turned their focus to signing Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres after missing out on the services of Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior.

Vinicius was identified as the prime target to bolster the left wing for the Gunners, but he decided to sign a long-term contract with Madrid.

The Gunners have now shifted their attention to Torres, who is likely to leave Barcelona after entering the final year of his contract this month.

Manchester City are reportedly owed Â£7m if Torres extends his contract at Barcelona. The Blaugrana are eager to avoid that possibility.

Paris Saint-Germain have already made the first move for the World Cup winner, but could face fierce competition from Arsenal now.

Barcelona are prepared to sell the 26-year-old for around Â£43m, but the price tag could be less too, given his current contract status.

Torres could be tempted to join the Gunners over PSG if he is guaranteed a starting role on the left wing ahead of new signing Christos Tzolis.
