Arsenal remain interested in landing Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, but they are unlikely to spend over the odds for him.

The England international had a superb 2025/26 season with the Villans. He helped them to a fourth-placed Premier League finish, while also winning the Europa League.

Konsa went on to impress for the Three Lions at the World Cup. His reputation has no doubt been enhanced, and Arsenal are now eager to secure his services.

The Gunners are without William Saliba for the next few months after he sustained a back injury during the World Cup semi-final for France against Spain last month.

Manager Mikel Arteta prefers an experienced solution for the role and Konsa is said to be the prime target. Arsenal are willing to pay Â£40m for him, but Villa want much more.

The Villans value him at around Â£60m and seem reluctant to lower their demands for the former Brentford man before the transfer window closes.
