Manchester City remain in contact with the representatives of Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues recently set a deadline until Friday 5pm to part ways with Fernandez, but Man City did not meet the £120m asking price.
Fernandez has since returned to play for the Blues, but there is still speculation that he could depart before the transfer deadline.
The Cityzens have continued to speak with the player’s entourage and Fernandez is also aware that Man City have not given up on him.
Chelsea are quite clear that they won’t sell Fernandez for £120m any more, and it may well require a higher fee to prise him away.
Man City are currently in the process of signing Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, who is expected to replace outgoing Tijjani Reijnders.
Rodri is likewise expected to move on to Barcelona soon, and the Cityzens seem determined to land Fernandez as a successor to the Spaniard.
