Atletico Madrid are determined to land Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson on a season-long loan with an option to buy, according to Marca.

The Senegal international fell out of favour under former manager Enzo Maresca last summer and was loaned to Bayern Munich.

Jackson had a decent loan stint with Bayern, scoring 10 goals, but the German champions decided against exercising the option to purchase him.

The former Villarreal man was recently training away from the first team, and reports claim that Chelsea could sanction his departure very soon.

Chelsea have set an asking price of around Â£60 million, which clubs have been reluctant to match. Atletico have made the best proposal.

The La Liga giants want to land Jackson on loan for around Â£5m, and seem prepared to include a conditional buy clause for around Â£50m.

It remains to be seen whether the Blues accept the loan-to-buy proposal or wait for a better offer for the 25-year-old over the next few days.
