Aston Villa are reportedly on the cusp of signing Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson in a deal worth £64 million.
The Midlands outfit made a dreadful start to the Premier League campaign with a heavy 4-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion on the road.
Villa were without a specialist senior striker against the Seagulls after Ollie Watkins refused to play due to his desire to join Al-Hilal.
Watkins is widely expected to join the Saudi Pro League giants soon, and The Telegraph claim that a replacement could be in place by then.
Villa are in advanced negotiations with Chelsea for the services of Jackson and a deal worth £64m including add-ons is set to be agreed.
Jackson has also accepted personal terms with the Europa League holders and he is excited to work again under manager Unai Emery.
The Senegal international had his best spell at Villarreal under Emery, and the Spanish tactician has played a big part in convincing him.
