Manchester United are likely to enter the transfer market for a new left-back when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

The Red Devils looked at the possibility of landing a left-back last summer, and Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall was one of the top targets.

However, the Magpies made it clear that the Englishman was indispensable and he has since committed his future with a long-term contract.

Hence, Hall is no longer an affordable option for the Red Devils, but they are still expected to pursue a left-back signing as early as January.

Luke Shaw started every league game for United last term, but the experienced ace has missed several matches with niggles this season.

Patrick Dorgu has likewise been out with a hamstring injury. The Dane has not been convincing when asked to operate as a left-back for United.

United are likely to pursue a new solution for the role this winter. Club Brugge sensation Joaquin Seys could emerge as a top target for them.
