Manchester United could enter the transfer market after the interim appointment of Michael Carrick this month.
Carrick has agreed terms to join the Red Devils as an interim manager for the season, and he is expected to be backed with transfer funds.
The club are unlikely to spend big money on signings, but the focus could be on a solitary purchase that could make a difference for them.
It is now revealed that Al-Hilal star Ruben Neves remains a target for the Mancunian giants, having first been linked in late December.
Neves’ current deal with the Saudi Pro League giants expires at the end of the campaign. Al-Hilal could sell him this winter if he does not renew.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers man could be available for a package of just £18 million or even less due to his contract situation.
Neves is determined to secure a return to the Premier League. He was a long-term target for the Red Devils prior to his move to Saudi.
