Actor Noel Clarke has been charged with sexual offences including sexual assault, voyeurism and exposure.

The Crown Prosecution Service authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge the Doctor Who and Kidulthood star on Wednesday, after a file of evidence was submitted by detectives.

Clarke, 50, from Kensington, west London, was charged with two counts of sexual assault, three charges of voyeurism and one charge of exposure. The offences are alleged to have taken place between 2007 and 2016 and relate to five women.

BBC News has asked his representatives for a comment.

The charges follow an investigation by detectives which began in September 2025.

A man, then in his 40s, was first arrested in connection with the investigation on 25 September 2025.

A file of evidence was later given to the CPS who authorised charges.

Clarke will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 21 October at 10:00 BST.

Det Supt Mike Cagney, whose team is leading the investigation, said: “The women connected to these charges continue to receive support from specially trained officers.

“We urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault to contact police. The information you provide will be dealt with in the utmost sensitivity and we have trained investigators on hand to support you.”

Clarke found fame playing Mickey Smith in Doctor Who between 2005 and 2010, and went on to become a successful actor, writer, producer and director.
