Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice is on the cusp of penning a new long-term contract at the club, according to BBC Sport.

The Englishman has been a key player for the Gunners for the past three years, and he helped the club end their long wait for the league title.

He continues to be highly valued by manager Mikel Arteta and it appears a matter of time before he commits his future to the Gunners.

Rice currently earns around Â£240,000 per week and looks set to sign a new long-term deal with wages close to Bukayo Saka‘s at Arsenal.

Saka is the highest earner at the north London giants on a package worth Â£350,000 per week. Rice could earn something similar.

Rice has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the past, but the Englishman has made it clear that he is very happy at the Gunners.

Manager Mikel Arteta penned a new deal until June 30 earlier today and it is widely expected that Rice will do the same in the coming days.
