Arsenal are one of the clubs keen on landing Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez during the summer transfer window, according to manager Diego Simeone.

The north London giants signed Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP last summer, and he has fared well with 18 goals across all competitions, including two against Atletico.

Despite this, they remain in the transfer market for another marquee striker, and it is claimed that Alvarez could be targeted at the end of the campaign.

Simeone in today’s press conference has confirmed that the 26-year-old is attracting interest from the Gunners, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

Arsenal have held a long-term interest in the marksman and the interest has been stepped up by sporting director Andrea Berta, who was previously in the same role at Atletico Madrid.

Atletico are reluctant to part ways with their prized asset and may only entertain his sale for a staggering fee of around £130 million during the next transfer window, as per Sky Sports.
