Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko will undergo his medical with Ajax before completing his loan move, according to De Telegraaf.

The Ukrainian was deemed surplus to requirements by the Gunners last summer, and he was loaned out to Nottingham Forest on deadline day.

The left-back has failed to make any impact at the Tricky Trees and he has now cut short his stay to join Ajax on loan for the rest of the season.

The Dutch giants have agreed to pay his weekly wages for the campaign and have scheduled a medical for the former Manchester City man tomorrow.

Zinchenko has his sights on a permanent switch to Ajax in the summer. Arsenal are unlikely to extend his deal which expires on June 30.

Ajax have also discussed a long-term stay with the Ukrainian and it remains to be seen whether he can make an impact to impress their hierarchy.

Zinchenko could operate in multiple roles for the Eredivisie outfit. Aside from his left-back position, he could play as a holding midfielder.
