Barcelona remain confident of landing Manchester City midfielder Rodri, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Blaugrana have earmarked Rodri as their prime midfield target, and they have already agreed personal terms with him.

So far, the club have had two bids worth £45m and £51m turned down for the Spaniard, but they are not prepared to give up.

Rodri has already told the Cityzens that he has no plans of penning a new contract beyond June 2027 and wants to leave for the Blaugrana.

Negotiations are still ongoing between the clubs, and Barcelona are confident that they will eventually strike an agreement.

Man City have already identified potential candidates to replace the World Cup winner. Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi is the prime choice.

Bouaddi has likewise agreed on personal terms with the Cityzens, and a move could intensify once Rodri heads for the exit door.

Rodri was previously the subject of interest from Real Madrid, but he politely informed them about his desire to join Barcelona.
