Chelsea are open to the possibility of landing a new left winger if Alejandro Garnacho leaves during the summer transfer window.

The Argentine signed for the Blues from Manchester United last summer for £40m, and he had minimal impact in his debut campaign.

Garnacho does not feature in the plans of new manager Xabi Alonso, and the winger is also open to pursuing a new challenge elsewhere.

The Blues have set an asking price of around £45m for the talented winger, and remain optimistic of finding a suitor in the coming weeks.

It is now reported that the Blues are planning for a new left winger if Garnacho leaves. Rafael Leao is one of the names on their radar.

Alonso has asked for a change in transfer policy at Chelsea.

The focus will be on signing proven players, and Leao fits the bill, given his good track record from the left wing for AC Milan over many years.

The Portuguese could be signed for around £43 million. Alonso wanted him at Bayer Leverkusen and has urged the Blues to explore a deal.
