Labour’s Sagal Abdi-Wali has won the Holborn and St Pancras by-election, securing 45% of the vote and beating the Green Party which came in second place.
In her victory speech, the Camden Council leader reflected on how the borough had given her family a home and shaped her life.
“My commitment to this community runs deep,” she said, adding that she hoped people who looked like her would see themselves reflected in Parliament.
