Exeter Women appoint Leicester’s Bundy as assistant

Exeter Chiefs Women have appointed Leicester Tigers Women head coach Ross Bundy as an assistant coach.

Bundy, a specialist in forwards and defence, joins with Exeter still looking for a new head coach after Steve Salvin left the club to take on a coaching role with Wales earlier this month.

A former Scotland Under-20 player, Bundy also spent time at Racing Club Narbonne and Nottingham.

He began his coaching career in the Netherlands before becoming an assistant coach at Edinburgh’s women’s side and then moving on to Leicester where he was named head coach in April last year.

“We look forward to seeing what Ross can do with our talented group of players here,” Exeter chief executive Tony Rowe told the club website., external

“He will not only bring experience as a forwards coach but also the recruitment and leadership nous that comes with being a head coach.”

Exeter came third in last season’s Premiership Women’s Rugby table before falling narrowly to Saracens in the play-off semi-final, while Leicester finished bottom after losing all 16 of their league games.
