Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has a firm stance on his club future amid interest from Chelsea.
The Netherlands international has yet to feature this campaign due to a medial knee ligament injury, but he is expected to make his return very soon.
Amidst this, there has been speculation that the Blues would be interested in bringing him to the Premier League, having previously tried to do so when he was with Ajax in the Eredivisie.
The Dutchman’s experience is highly valued by manager Xabi Alonso and he believes he would be a perfect partner for Moises Caicedo in midfield.
However, there are no signs that De Jong would entertain a new challenge away from the Blaugrana despite the club’s purchase of Rodri recently.
Rodri has made the number six position his own at the Catalan giants and De Jong may have to play second fiddle to the Spaniard in the future.
Still, he is prepared to fight for his spot rather than move on.
