Leicester sign lock Stooke for next season

Leicester Tigers have signed lock Elliott Stooke from Japanese side Red Hurricanes for next season.

The 32-year-old began his career at Gloucester and has also had spells at Bath, Wasps, Bristol and Montpellier.

The deals follows the recent signing of Wales number eight Aaron Wainwright, who will also join Geoff Parling’s side for the 2026-27 campaign.

“I feel as though I have unfinished business within the Prem. I want to get my hands on silverware and to do that with Leicester Tigers would be a brilliant achievement,” Stooke said.

He signed for Red Hurricanes in 2024 following a second spell with Bath, where he made more than 140 appearances.

“Everyone I spoke to highlighted what a great character he was to have in the changing room, so we look forward to him adding value to what we are trying to do here,” head coach Parling said.
