Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has revealed that Reece James, Cole Palmer and Malo Gusto will be assessed ahead of the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The west London giants welcome the Gunners to Stamford Bridge for the first leg. Ahead of the game, Rosenior revealed that a final decision will be made on James, Palmer and Gusto after Tuesday’s training session.
He said: “I’ll make a decision on Cole, Reece and Malo tomorrow; I’m giving them some extra time. I appreciate that doing the press conference two days before is not ideal – sorry about that – but I’ve got time to make a decision.”
The Blues played out a 1-1 draw against Arsenal in the Premier League at home earlier this term. They produced a strong display despite having Moises Caicedo sent off during the opening half of the derby.
Caicedo will be absent again on Wednesday night due to a League Cup suspension. Andrey Santos could start as the holding midfielder against the Gunners if James is not deemed fit.
