Manchester United have earmarked Chelsea striker Liam Delap as a possible option to strengthen the centre-forward department this summer.

The Red Devils presently have Joshua Zirkzee and Benjamin Sesko as their senior strikers, but the former has been touted to head for the exit door.

Juventus and Como are keen on landing the former Bologna man on an initial loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has now revealed that Delap is one of the players under United’s radar, having previously missed out on signing him to the Blues.

Delap was a top target for the Mancunian giants last year, but the Englishman opted to sign for the Blues instead due to Champions League football.

The tables have turned over the last 12 months with United back in the elite European competition, while the Blues won’t be playing in Europe next season.

Chelsea signed Delap from Ipswich Town for £30 million last summer, and may want to recoup the entire fee at least to part ways with him.
