Manchester United wonderkid Harry Amass could be handed more minutes from the starting XI after a couple of injury setbacks this month.

The Red Devils recently witnessed Patrick Dorgu pick up a hamstring injury on international duty with Denmark. Noussair Mazraoui has since joined the treatment room after sustaining a painful back problem, playing for Morocco.

As a result, United are short in the left-back department. Luke Shaw is the only senior specialist for the role, but his long injury record means that manager Michael Carrick needs to manage his workload as well.

Ayden Heaven is a possible solution to fill the void for Carrick with his good ball-playing and ball-carrying ability. The manager could also resort to wonderkid Amass, who came close to leaving the club over the summer.

The teenager came on as a substitute in the Champions League opener against Sabah earlier this month, and could be handed a surprise starting role if Carrick decides to rest Shaw during the hectic schedule.
