Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick has confirmed a fresh injury for Benjamin Sesko during the 3-2 Premier League win over Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Sesko scored the second goal in the thrilling contest at home but he did not come after the interval after picking up a knock on his shin. Speaking after the game, Carrick confirmed a minor setback for the striker, he said:

“He got a bang on his shin when he fell down the side of the pitch. It’s something that he’s been carrying for a little bit as well, so we’ve had to manage him a bit, but he’s certainly had a bang right on the same spot.”

United qualified for next season’s Champions League with a thrilling win over their arch-rivals at home. They will now aim to end the campaign on a high by securing as many points as possible in the next three games.

Sunderland, Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove Albion are United’s last three opponents. United should be quietly optimistic of hitting the 70-point mark. They are presently on 64 points after 35 matches.
