Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has confirmed that Benjamin Sesko is ruled out for the Premier League clash against Leeds United at Elland Road.

The Red Devils have been in a dismal run of form in all competitions. They are winless in the last five matches and will seek to end the dreadful run against Leeds.

Ahead of the game, Carrick has confirmed that United are still assessing Sesko’s shin injury and they are yet to examine the timescale for his recovery.

With Sesko sidelined, it is most likely that Matheus Cunha or Bryan Mbeumo will lead the line when United take on Leeds on the road on Sunday.

The other option would be to play Joshua Zirkzee upfront. Carrick has rarely opted for that option, but it could be something to try against the Peacocks this weekend.

The Dutchman has been patiently waiting for a starting role and it remains to be seen whether he get the nod for the number nine spot.
