Newcastle sign Pumas prop Moreno

Argentina prop Francisco Moreno has become the latest international to join Newcastle Red Bulls, signing a one-year deal with the Prem outfit.

The 24-year-old tight-head made his Test debut for Los Pumas against world champions South Africa earlier this month and is currently with the national side preparing for Saturday’s match against Australia.

He will join up with Pumas team-mates Franco Molina and Simon Benitez Cruz on Tyneside following the end of his international commitments.

Moreno becomes the 25th signing for the Red Bulls as they refresh a side that finished bottom of the Prem table in 2025-26 season with just two wins.

In May the club announced that 26 players would be leaving at the end of their current deals this summer in a mass clearout

Newcastle Red Bulls head coach Dan McFarland told the club website, external: “Francisco is a relatively young tight-head who has already taken his first steps in international rugby, and shows a lot of promise.

“He’s a big man who will add to our front-row depth, and we look forward to integrating him into our group when he arrives here.”
