“3 Years Later, Angel Reese is Caitlin Clark” – A’ja Wilson’s Friend Draws Parallels as Dream Star Gets Mocked For Too Small Celebration by Valkyries

Angel Reese’s “too small” celebration during the WNBA Finals backfired as the Dream fell to Golden State in Game 7. The forward was mocked by the Valkyries for her taunt following the Finals loss, while one of A’ja Wilson’s friends used the moment to draw comparisons between Reese and Caitlin Clark.

Media personality and Wilson’s friend Michael McManus shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting how Reese had switched roles with Clark after she was mocked by the Valkyries.

“3 years later, Angel is Caitlin, Gueye/GS is Angel. Whew, my God,” McManus wrote.

McManus drew parallels between Reese and Clark while resharing a clip highlighting how the rivalry between the pair began.

In the video, Reese appeared to discuss her celebration directed at the guard during the NCAA Finals, explaining that she taunted Clark after the latter had previously celebrated against another school following a win.

However, the roles were reversed during the WNBA Finals as Reese, who enjoyed stellar outings in Games 2 and 3, mocked the Valkyries and Aminata Gueye with the “too small” celebration. That, though, backfired as the Valkyries secured the title in Game 7, leading Gueye and other players to mock Reese.

Gueye, who went up against Reese throughout the series, posted a cropped image of Reese’s celebration on her story, while Tiffany Hayes performed the same celebration during the locker room celebrations.

With Reese facing the same kind of mockery she had once directed at Clark, McManus highlighted the irony of the situation by drawing parallels between the moment and the first meeting between Clark and Reese.

Angel Reese steps away from the public eye following WNBA Finals loss

Angel Reese remains one of the WNBA’s biggest stars, with the forward representing the league on many fronts. A part of multiple ventures, including having her own podcast and even walking the runway, the forward is usually in the public eye even off the court.

However, this offseason is going to be a little different, as Reese announced she was stepping away from the public eye following the Dream’s WNBA Finals loss.

“Hi, my lovebugsss! I’ll miss y’all, but before I go for the next 6 months. THIS AIN’T NO MF* HIATUS. I’m dedicating this off-season to myself,” Reese wrote on IG. “I won’t be doing my podcast this off-season, but you can expect some vlogs from time to time.

“Florida will be my home & I will be there resting, working out, continuing to work on my personal brand quietly, and supporting/ loving on my partner. Things that I love to do that bring me so much PEACE.”

With Reese choosing to rest and recuperate following a stellar season, it remains to be seen how she performs next term.
