Emma Raducanu missed training at Wimbledon on Thursday as she manages an injury aggravated by her run to the Queen’s final.
The 23-year-old Briton finished as runner-up to Croatia’s Donna Vekic after five matches in a week earlier this month, and wore strapping on her left thigh after a slip in the quarter-finals.
But the thigh is not the concern this week, with sources indicating that Raducanu has a shin problem.
She was reportedly, external seen leaving the All England Club wearing an orthopaedic boot on her right leg on Wednesday.
Speaking after the Queen’s final, Raducanu said: “I have just been dealing with a few niggles over the past few weeks, and of course the load I have had in the last week – it’s been a great problem to have, playing this many matches.”
It was a welcome return to form for the British number one, who had not won a match since early March and missed several tournaments because of a viral illness.
She decided against playing in Nottingham last week, or Eastbourne this week, but was seen practising at the All England Club on Monday.
She is seeded 30th for Wimbledon, which begins on Monday, and is set to learn her first-round opponent in Friday’s draw.
