The Ospreys are set to sign the Cardiff playmaker on a season long loan
The Ospreys have asked the Welsh Rugby Union to sanction a loan move for former Wales Under-20 fly-half Harri Wilde from Cardiff.
Cardiff currently have five outside-halves on their books in the shape of new signing Jarrod Evans, Callum Sheedy, Ioan Lloyd, Wilde and Wales U20s playmaker Lloyd Lucas.
The Arms Park outfit have plans to play Lloyd at full-back and Evans at inside centre in some games next season.

But the Ospreys have been trying to persuade the WRU to let Wilde join them and WalesOnline understands they are likely to get their way.
Cardiff is currently owned by the WRU, a relationship that could increase the governing body’s influence over any such move.
The Ospreys need another option at 10 to compete with Wales star Dan Edwards, although they have signed Australian utility-back Lawson Creighton from the Waratahs as a replacement for Jack Walsh who has joined Montauban.
Wilde is more likely to get regular game time in the United Rugby Championship at the Ospreys than Cardiff in the short-term.
The 21-year-old impressed for Wales U20s over the past couple of seasons with his ability to play flat to the line coupled with his peripheral vision and impressive kicking game marking him out as a player with significant potential.
Wilde has played the majority of his rugby for Cardiff RFC in Super Rygbi Cymru but is at the stage in his development where he needs to step up and play regularly at regional level.
Cardiff have an excellent track record in developing youngsters and transitioning them into the first team but Wilde could be lost to the Ospreys for the short-term.
