The England rugby hero was clearly left in stitches by the Prince’s claims

Prince Harry found he was bullied in school, despite his royal status, for his ginger hair.

However, his confession generated precious little sympathy from England rugby hero Joe Marler, who struggled to contain his laughter when Harry opened up about his torment at being called ‘carrot top’ by his peers at school.

Harry attended the pre-preparatory school Wetherby School, then Ludgrove School in Berkshire.

He eventually attended Eton College, which broke tradition for the Royal Family, who had previously sent many of their children to Gordonstoun in Scotland.

As it turns out, Harry’s appearance was apparently the source of much teasing during his younger days.

Appearing on the Joe Marler Will See You Now podcast, the Duke was asked what people most often get wrong about him.

“Uh, that I’m not ginger,” the Duke said, likely tongue in cheek.

Marler responded: “Hang on, hang on, hang on, people get that wrong?”

Harry added: “Yeah, people think I’m ginger, but I’m more sort of like, um, sunset auburn. Yeah?”

At that point laughter can be heard in the background, with Harry playfully snapping: “I don’t know why that’s funny.”

Co-host Jake Bhardwaj then stepped in, insisting: “Can we not laugh at the Duke, please? Yeah.”

Harry went on to add: “Unless you want to, unless you want to call me ginge. You know? I got bullied a lot at school, called carrot top, right? Sorry.”

“I don’t know why they would, uh, I… Not funny. It’s not funny, you know,” said Marler, covering his face and seemingly struggling to stop himself from bursting out laughing.

The Duke then joked: “I’m going to need therapy after this.”

Harry was then asked if he would swap lives for a day with Harry Styles, Harry Kane or Harry Potter, choosing England captain Kane “on a winning day,” explaining: “You don’t want to be Kane on a losing day, do you?”

Prince Harry is also adamant Kane and his England teammates will win the World Cup.

“Who wouldn’t want to ride a broomstick?

“And Harry Styles, great, you know, runs around on stage in a pair of tight shorts. What? So it’s tough – a hard choice, but Kane for me.”
