Sevilla are closing in on a £7.9m move for Scotland Under-21 striker Robbie Ure from Swedish club IK Sirius.

The 22-year-old is set for a medical at the Spanish club on Monday and ready to sign a five-year contract after being offered the chance to lead the line at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

Ure has been in demand across Europe after scoring 20 goals and providing three assists in 20 matches in all competitions this season.

He began his club career at Rangers, where he scored once in three appearances, before joining Belgian club Anderlecht in 2023, where he made just one senior appearance.

It is in Sweden, however, where his career has taken off, with 31 goals and seven assists in 50 appearances since joining Sirius a year ago.

His 15 league goals have propelled the Swedish top-flight club to the top of the Allsvenskan table, where they have built a commanding 13-point lead at the midway stage of the season.

The Scotland under-19s international has yet to declare his allegiance for a national team, while also eligible for Ukraine, but told BBC Scotland last month his preference is to wait for a call-up to the Tartan Army.
