Benfica have made an opening approach to sign Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo this summer, according to BBC Sport.
The Englishman has been a key player for the Blues and has continued to impress under new manager Xabi Alonso in pre-season.
He is currently not up for sale, but Portuguese giants Benfica have still made a formal move to try and prise him away from the Blues.
Chelsea are yet to make any decision regarding his future. They are more likely to focus on other outcasts to recoup transfer funds.
As things stand, Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile are the likelier centre-backs to leave the club before the transfer window closes.
Disasi is on the radar of AC Milan alongside with Paris FC.
Badiashile has emerged as a top target for Napoli and discussions are ongoing over a loan deal with an obligation to purchase.
Chelsea are not contemplating Adarabioyo’s sale, but they could change their stance if they receive a tempting offer on the table.
