Relatives of victims and a survivor of double murderer and serial sex offender Simon Levy have branded him a “parasite” who deserves to die behind bars.

Levy, 49, was jailed for life on Wednesday after murdering two women and raping another, all while he was on bail for a series of other sex assaults.

On Wednesday families of the two women he murdered faced him in court, as a survivor of one the attacks told him he was “not worthy” of any more of her “words or time”.

The sister of murdered mother-of-four Sheryl Wilkins was in tears as she remembered a “beautiful soul who you cruelly took away in an evil act of crime”.

Lindsey Hicks told the Old Bailey hearing: “There will never be enough words to express how I feel since losing my big sister Sheryl.

“You, Simon Levy, have destroyed our lives and we will never get over this.”

“We should have been growing old together like sisters do and be there to support each other. Instead, I’m having to realise that one day in the near future I will be older than my big sister.

“We hope you spend the rest of your miserable life behind bars and we get justice for Sheryl. This last year has been the worst year of our lives; the pain you have put us through has been unbearable. Sheryl’s life was taken unlawfully and violently.”

Addressing Levy directly, as he sat wearing sunglasses for an eye condition in the dock, she added: “Know this, you lose. We get to leave here today knowing we will keep Sheryl alive by sharing memories about her and living for her.

“We will continue to live as a loving family through our loss, supporting each other. You don’t get to take that away. I hope you rot in prison for the rest of your life.”

Sheryl’s mother Mary Wilkins said she believed her daughter’s murder in August 2025 had meant Levy was finally brought to justice, saving the lives of other potential victims.

In a statement read by junior prosecutor Kerry Broome, she added: “Our Sheryl has ended your chances of hurting anyone else, she lost her life to do this but we truly believe Sheryl has saved countless women.

“You took away our beautiful daughter Sheryl. She was a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend and a beloved family member. She had four beautiful children.

“Sheryl was taken from us one day before her 40th birthday, she had so many hopes and dreams. She should’ve celebrated her 40th birthday, she should’ve grown old with us, instead all of that was taken away.”

“Sheryl’s children had been robbed not only of their mother but their future with her. This was the destruction of a life, a family and a future.

“Sheryl’s life mattered, Simon you have changed our lives forever but you cannot take away our love for Sheryl.

“We will continue to talk about her, we will continue to remember her.”

Levy killed grandmother Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, in March 2025. Her daughter Nazly Johana Fuenmayor Valencia said in court her mother had come to the UK to give her family a better life.

“There’s an emptiness that can’t be filled. I have been ripped apart… we will never be the same again,” she said,

“She was a truly special person who gave so much love to others. Her kindness, her smile and the love she shared so freely will stay with us forever.

“We have been living a nightmare we cannot wake up from. We don’t know why she was taken from us. The rest of our lives will never be the same.

“My mum came to this country to give her children a better life and for safety. Instead her life was taken so cruelly.”

A woman who survived Levy after he raped her in January 2025 said she could not forget his smell as he attacked her.

In a statement read by a prosecutor she said: “He took away my soul that night and he took away my dignity. He took my soul like a parasite.

“I feel like people have taken advantage of me all my life. I can’t forget the smell of his sweaty hands on my mouth. I thought I would die.

“It’s taken me a long time to trust people, I can trust a small number of friends.

“I want to try to forget this monster. This man is a parasite not worthy of any more of my words or time.”

Both of Levy’s murders were sexually motivated. Valencia-Trujillo, who was found in a largely abandoned block of flats on the Aylesbury estate in south-east London, had been suffocated.

He had done the same to Wilkins before she was found behind a car park wall near Tottenham High Road, north London.

His rape attack had happened in the same car park, but despite the victim telling police where he lived he was not interviewed until after his two murders.

His case has posed serious questions for the authorities over why he was repeatedly set free on bail – despite increasing attacks on women.

Judge Mark Lucraft KC, the Recorder of London, sentenced Levy to a whole life prison term.

He told him: “You are clearly someone who ruthlessly exploits others for your own personal sexual satisfaction.

“You are someone who appears to have a morbid fascination with sex, rape and crime.”
