Chelsea are weighing up a January approach for Crystal Palace wing-back Tyrick Mitchell, but could face competition from Manchester United.
The Blues parted ways with Marc Cucurella during the summer, and they decided to replace him with Rayo Vallecano’s Pep Chavarria.
The Spaniard has shared his minutes with Jorrel Hato in the left wing-back role this term, but manager Xabi Alonso is open to another signing.
Hato has not been entirely convincing as a wing-back thus far, and there is a possibility that he could be sold in either January or next summer.
Amidst this, Mitchell has emerged as a top target for the Blues and reports claim that he could be signed for just £20m in January with his contract expiring at the end of June next year.
Mitchell has no desire to renew his stay with the Eagles and looks most likely to move on. The Blues could face direct competition from United, who want a new deputy to Luke Shaw at left-back.
