Barcelona sporting director Deco has clarified that Barcelona are not interested in signing Manchester United wonderkid JJ Gabriel.
The 15-year-old has made the decision to move on from the Red Devils and has already snubbed a scholarship contract when he turns 16 next month.
Gabriel has asked to be deregistered by United and reports have claimed that he could end up moving to La Liga with Barcelona and Real Madrid keen.
However, the Blaugrana have now distanced themselves from the speculation with Deco clearly insisting that the club have made no contact with him.
He said: “There’s nothing to say about this boy. It’s normal we always have players linked with us. We are not interested in any player in his situation. I’m not sure what’s happening.”
JJ Gabriel and his father were in Barcelona earlier last week but it appears nothing materialised. He could still end up in Spain with Madrid working on a suitable long-term plan.
