Andy Burnham has said the government will end the pensions “triple lock” in an emotional speech at his first Labour conference as prime minister.

He also announced a plan to end the ban on water companies being owned publicly and a proposal to change the UK’s electoral system.

The BBC’s Jack Fenwick explains how the big announcements were received by Labour MPs and members in Liverpool.
