Gloucester winger Phil Cokanasiga has been ruled out until January after undergoing surgery on a foot injury suffered in the win against Exeter.
The 25-year-old played the entire 80 minutes of the impressive 45-24 victory at Sandy Park but head coach George Skivington told BBC Radio Gloucestershire – before the extent of the injury was known – that he “caught his foot” towards the end of the game.
Cokanasiga joined the Cherry and Whites this summer from United Rugby Championship side Ospreys and scored two tries on his debut in the Prem Rugby Cup defeat by Bristol earlier this month.
Prop Jamal Ford Robinson is also on the sidelines until January, the club said, and has had an operation on a torn hamstring he suffered in the loss to the Bears.
Ford-Robinson has been beset by injuries the past 12 months, limiting him to five games for Gloucester since the start of last season, having required multiple knee operations.
