The Nora Hotel—West Palm Beach, Florida
Where it’s located: It’s the anchor of West Palm Beach’s emerging NORA District, which has all sorts of shops, restaurants, bars, galleries, fitness studios, and all the walkable things that can be hard to find in Florida.
Why we’re excited: A lot of Florida’s visitors focus their time on the glitzier Palm Beach across the Intracoastal, but the arrival of The Nora Hotel is a stamp of approval for what’s happening on this side of the bridge. It also marks the first major collaborative project outside of New York City between award-winning hoteliers Sean MacPherson and BD Hotels, who have shaped New York’s cultural landscape going on 20 years with projects like The Bowery, Hotel Chelsea and The Ludlow Hotel. As such, The Nora brings the sophisticated, moody interiors of Lower Manhattan to the otherwise sun-drenched, Lilly Pulitzer-esque Palm Beach area. The Nora opens this fall with a splash—namely, the Floridian debut of famed Starr Restaurants concept Pastis, a Sisley Spa, as well as a rooftop restaurant, Lilly’s. The property is debuting as a member of Leading Hotels of the World, ushering in a new era of luxury for the area, and proving that, yes, chic and fabulous things can happen on either side of the Intracoastal.
