Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi looks poised to be fit for the Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on the road on Sunday.

The Gunners have won back-to-back games after the international break and will aim to extend the streak against the Tricky Trees this weekend.

Ahead of the game, manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Zubimendi has recovered well from his ankle injury sustained in a warm-down session.

The Spaniard added that the experienced midfielder will be assessed in the final session tomorrow and could be deemed fit for Sunday’s trip.

Arsenal face the Tricky Trees at City Ground. They have had a wretched record at the stadium with just one win in the last six encounters.

They have played out goalless draws in the last two trips and could face another tough away trip despite Forest’s lowly position in the table.

Zubimendi is unlikely to start for the Gunners but the Spaniard could have a role to play off the bench with his strong defensive attributes.
