Nicolas Raskin is “really happy” at Rangers but unsure about what might happen in January.
The Belgium midfielder, 25, scored his first goal of the season in last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Dundee, having started Rangers’ past seven games.
He had been linked with a move away in the summer and was left out of some games amid a possible move.
Since joining Rangers in January 2023, the midfielder has made more than 150 club appearances and picked up 22 senior caps.
“It wasn’t that difficult,” said Raskin when asked about refocusing on Rangers after the World Cup and transfer uncertainty.
“The hardest was not being able to play. Watching the boys playing, this is probably the hardest bit I’ve been through during the window.
“When you’re an ambitious player, you want to keep going higher and higher and higher. I thought there was a point where maybe I could try and go and get for a new challenge after the World Cup.
“I’ve never been pushing for something because I’m really happy here. It’s a big club. This club helped me join the Belgian national team, which is a big, big thing.
“I’m really calm with that. I don’t need to push anything. The manager’s been amazing with me since he arrived. We’ve got loads of time before January. We try to make the best of it, try to win as many games as we can and I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
Asked about the possibility of extending his contract before the end of next season, the Belgian added: “I don’t know it’s not up to me. It’s up to the club.”

Manager Derek McInnes said of Raskin: “We’re not looking to lose players in January and Nico’s been a key player for us and hopefully he’s a key player in a successful Rangers team this season.
“January’s not a window you want to be losing key players. Clubs can bid above and beyond what a player’s value is.
“If there was an opportunity to work with Nico beyond [his current deal] then obviously it’s something that I would not be against.
“Nico said to me that he could’ve had one or two things that he could’ve jumped at in the end of the transfer window but he’s keen to be here and be part of a successful team.
“Unless something comes up that really turns his head and really turns Rangers’ head, then we keep working together.”
Meanwhile, McInnes revealed a sickness bug has affected his squad and may make two of his regular starters doubtful for Saturday’s visit of Scottish Premiership opponents St Johnstone.
