American Skye Blakely won gold in the women’s all-around at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam.

The 21-year-old finished with a score of 55.733 from her four events – vault, bars, beam and floor – to finish top of the leaderboard.

Blakely’s career has been dogged by injuries, having been forced to pull out of the last two Olympic Games, including a ruptured Achilles two days before the 2024 Olympic Trials.

She finished ahead of Russia’s Liudmila Roshchina, who took silver with 55.199, while China’s Ke Qinqin, 16, took the bronze medal with a 55.032

British duo Alice Kinsella and Abi Martin finished in 13th and 18th with scores of 52.765 and 51.599 respectively.

You can watch coverage of the Gymnastics World Championships, which run until Sunday, 25 October, on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
