Vaibhav Suryavanshi smacks RCB pacer for huge six over point in NZ vs IND 2026 3rd T20I [Watch]

Teen sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi displayed his six-hitting ability with a maximum at the start of India’s chase in the third T20I against New Zealand. The Men in Blue are chasing 199 in Wellington.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued to remain in the playing XI, with Ishan Kishan still recovering. This time around, he was promoted and walked out to open alongside Abhishek Sharma. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Jacob Duffy opened the bowling for New Zealand.

On the third ball, he bowled a short delivery on off. Suryavanshi was ready on the back foot and got into position early, reading the length quickly. He capitalised on the width and smacked the ball over point, cutting it with authority into the fence.

The youngster began with a boundary earlier and got going right away. It turned out to be a huge over for India as Abhishek also took charge from the other end. Duffy leaked 26 runs as the Men in Blue got off to a blistering start in the chase.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi failed to get going in the second T20I

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was not part of the playing XI in the first T20I against New Zealand. However, he replaced the injured Ishan Kishan in the second game. The 15-year-old was asked to bat at number three, with India sticking to the opening combination of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson.

However, he struggled to get going while batting out of position. He made just four runs off eight balls and looked scratchy during his short and woeful stay at the crease.

As soon as he was promoted to open the batting, Vaibhav Suryavanshi showcased his ability to fire in the powerplay. He got off to a racing start in the third T20I, getting to 25 runs off his first ten balls with a four and three sixes. The youngster will be keen to capitalise on the start and convert it into a big knock to make the most of the opportunity. As he has not gotten regular chances in the playing XI, he will be keen to present a strong case.
