The New York Giants are top of the NFC East after a strong start to the season. Despite their strong start, the Giants have been linked with a move for Indianapolis Colts star Jonathan Taylor.
Earlier this week, Giants general manager Joe Schoen said they will “canvas the league” to identify roster upgrade options ahead of next month’s trade deadline.
Thanks for the submission!
However, Giants legend Tiki Barber questioned if the franchise should “compromise” their capital for a specific player.

“The last thing you want to do is compromise your ability to acquire players either via draft or cap restrictions by reaching for something you think you ‘need.’ So I get why it could be tame to do nothing, but I also can’t identify one specific player that I really, really want.

“I can’t identify one player that I really want and desire that I’m gonna do anything because it’ll make us better this season. Especially after Cam Skattebo had the day that he had.”
The Giants have been linked with the Colts running back amid Cam Skattebo’s inconsistent performances. However, Skattebo had a strong outing against the Houston Texans over the weekend.
NFL insider feels Jonathan Taylor trade could be a “sizeable upgrade” for Giants
Giants running back Cam Skattebo had 124 yards on 17 carries with a touchdown against the Texans. Despite his strong outing, NFL insider Timothy Rapp believes Jonathan Taylor‘s arrival could be a massive upgrade.
“Yes, the New York Giants seemed to hand the reins back to Cam Skattebo this past week and, yes, he responded with 124 yards on the ground and a touchdown,” Rapp wrote. “But he has undeniable speed limitations, and Taylor would be a pretty sizable upgrade.”
Skattebo has 418 rushing yards on 98 carries this season despite question marks over his running game.
