“My wife shamed me” – Cody Rhodes gets brutally honest

Cody Rhodes recently revealed an interesting story about his wife, Brandi Rhodes.

The American Nightmare is mostly seen wearing suits on television whenever he is not wrestling. It had seemingly gotten to the point where suits were all he had in his wardrobe. When Cody tried making a change by buying polos, his wife had an interesting reaction to it.

Speaking on the Double Coverage podcast, Cody Rhodes revealed that during his time away from WWE, dressing well became part of how he presented himself. He admitted that his wardrobe now consists almost entirely of suits. When he recently tried switching things up with jeans and polo shirts, Chelsea Green, Matt Cardona, and his wife made fun of him for wearing polos that were apparently too fancy. Rhodes has seemingly accepted defeat and has decided to stick with suits.

“I tell people, cause I think some of my peers for a long minute thought that the suits and stuff were real performative and maybe they were, but after a while it became this really great feeling. Felt professional. We were talking about your clean sneaks earlier. You like this sense of pride, and when I was away from WWE, the sense of that guy is doing things. The classic case of dress for the job you want, I suppose. Now to the point where it’s all I have. I got shamed because I bought some polos. You can’t just wear suits all the time. So I wore jeans and some polos. Chelsea Green, Matt Cardona, and my wife shamed me for, I guess, it was too fancy of a polo. I don’t even know how you can go too fancy. But yeah, I’m just going to go all suits, all the time now at this point. I couldn’t get it right.” [H/T Fightful]

Cody Rhodes has a major match at Crown Jewel 2026

Cody Rhodes is headed to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to settle his issues with his former mentor, Randy Orton, in a Last Man Standing Match at Crown Jewel.

The bitter rivals are currently 1-1 in their rivalry, and the match on November 7 will conclude their trilogy. It will be interesting to see who walks out with a victory at the Riyadh PLE.
