Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has been the subject of trade speculation since February. Richardson asked for a trade early in the offseason after losing the starting job to Daniel Jones.
The Colts declined his fifth-year option in April, which leaves him in the final year of his rookie deal and headed for free agency after this season. With the NFL trade deadline six days away, the Colts quarterback said he is focusing on getting on the field, despite the trade rumors.
Thanks for the submission!
“Man, I just think about getting on the field. Everybody wants to be able to go out on the field and play, and make plays for the team,” Richardson said. “I haven’t thought about any trade requests or any deadlines. Just showing up to work, preparing and getting ready for my opportunity.”

The Colts are 2-6 after losing four consecutive games, including a 42-7 rout at Jacksonville on Sunday. Colts coach Shane Steichen said on Monday that Jones keeps his starting role for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Anthony Richardson spoke about his playing opportunities
Anthony Richardson‘s window against the Jaguars opened only because the score was out of reach, which is the shape his season has taken. Asked about a possible change at quarterback, he said he prepares as though the job is already his.
“I can’t really focus too much on it,” Richardson said. “Just gotta keep doing what I been doing. Come in the building, showing up to work, just preparing like I was gonna be the starter regardless. Regardless of what decision he makes, just gotta make sure I’m prepared when my number is called.”
Whether Richardson finishes the season in Indianapolis depends on an offer the Colts have not received.
