Getty ImagesEngland will host Iceland in a Women’s World Cup qualifier on 7 March at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.
The match is the team’s first home qualifier for the 2027 tournament, which is being held in Brazil.
The Lionesses’ first qualifier will be away against Ukraine on 3 March at a venue yet to be decided.
“We are at the beginning of an important qualifying campaign,” England head coach Sarina Wiegman said.
“We want to be at our best and are really looking forward to getting started again. Iceland are a well‑organised, competitive side, so this will be a great test for us as we begin our journey toward the World Cup.”
England are in Group A3 alongside Iceland, Ukraine and Spain. The winner of the group will automatically qualify, while second and third place will go into play-offs to fight for a World Cup spot.
The Lionesses will bid to qualify and then go one step further than the 2023 competition where they reached the final and lost 1-0 to Spain.
Since then England have won a major trophy as they defended their European Championship crown in 2025 by beating Spain on penalties in the final.
