The Las Vegas Raiders face off against the New York Jets in their Week 8 clash on Sunday. Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty has grabbed headlines with his comments ahead of Sunday’s game.

The second-year running back threw shade at the Jets’ defensive line, calling out New York defenders for their unwillingness to tackle the opposition ball carriers.

Thanks for the submission!

“Yeah. I think we can definitely get the run game going. Get back on track,” Jeanty said. “Just really get after these guys. A couple guys out there that don’t really want to tackle, but I’m not going to say names.”

The Raiders head into the game on the back of four consecutive defeats after a 3-0 start to the season. However, they have a chance to bounce back as the Jets’ defense has allowed 127.7 rushing yards per game, ranking 24th in the NFL this season. They allowed 28 points against the Miami Dolphins, who put up 156 rushing yards on 41 carries.

Jets defensive coordinator Brian Duker reacts to Ashton Jeanty’s comments

Following Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty‘s remarks about the Jets defense after Wednesday’s practice at the Raiders’ facility, New York defensive coordinator Brian Duker backed his players.

“I’m sure they’re aware,” Duker said. “I got confidence in our guys. I think they can be better, you know, obviously. There’s certainly room for improvement. I’m always going to want more in that area.”

Jeanty, who rushed for 102 yards in the Raiders’ season opener, has not rushed for more than 60 yards in his last six games. His pointed comments will make him an easy target on Sunday as the Jets hope to keep their season alive.
