At this point, the airport is my home away from home. I’ve been on 30 flights this past year alone, and my travels have taken me everywhere from business trips to Salt Lake City and Jackson Hole to a six-week sojourn in Europe. But no matter where I’m heading, you better believe I’m wearing my $35 pair of joggers from Amazon.
I never thought these pants would become my de facto in-flight ’fit when I bought them back in 2020. Truthfully, I heard a colleague wax poetic about them and thought they’d make an excellent addition to my work-from-home uniform. (Like many, I was adhering to a strict drawstring-only dress code.) It didn’t take long for me to realize that these super-soft, zipper- and button-free joggers are the ultimate travel pants.

Travel Joggers with Pockets
Why I love them for travel
It’s borderline sadistic to wear rigid or tight bottoms on a plane, but I don’t subscribe to treating the airport like its a slumber party either. (Trust me, nobody wants to see your PJs.) I try to keep my airplane outfits equal parts refined and relaxed—comfortable but polished enough that I won’t be humiliated if I bump into a colleague at the gate or need to beeline it to a meeting once I land. Most sweatpants are a little too low-effort for my liking, and my skin-tight leggings look a little dorky with compression socks.
The Ajisai joggers are different. Instead of the tapered details that plague most sweatpants, this straight-leg style hits right above the ankle to offer a more sophisticated silhouette. (Don’t worry, shorter jet-setters: These joggers come in petite length too.) I can discreetly slip my knee-high compression socks underneath my pants or, if I’m tundra-bound, tuck them into my snow boots. Though I typically wear them with sneakers to the airport, these ankle-baring bottoms are also cute with flats once I’ve reached my destination.
This pair’s nylon-spandex blend offers plenty of stretch and moves as I do: Whether I’m bending down to grab my carry-on, running to catch my flight, or shifting in the middle seat, these pants are like a second skin. And unlike super thick sweats, I never have to worry about overheating. In fact, I recently wore these while having lunch in the 93-degree Cabo heat and felt surprisingly comfortable. I’m also pleasantly surprised by how well they’ve held up over the past six years. They have maintained their shape and don’t have any snags or rips, despite countless rounds in the washing machine. And did I mention they have pockets? Most often, I use them to stash my phone in before I hoist my suitcase into the overhead compartment.
