Chelsea winger Jesse Derry picked up a head injury during the 3-1 Premier League loss to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues graduate got the nod on the left wing against Forest after Alejandro Garnacho and Pedro Neto missed the game with minor knocks.

Derry was unfortunately substituted before the interval after a nasty clash of heads with Zach Abbott. He required a stretcher to leave the pitch,

The Blues have now confirmed that he has been taken to the hospital for further tests. His condition could be clarified in the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Chelsea continued their dreadful league form with a sixth-straight loss. The only silver lining was Joao Pedro‘s late stoppage-time goal.

It ended a five-game league run without finding the back of the net.

Chelsea are currently ninth in the standings and look poised to miss out on Europe unless they beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final later this month.
