WWE is days away from Crown Jewel, but congratulations go out to TJ Wilson.
In 2006, WWE signed TJ Wilson, also known as Tyson Kidd. Wilson ultimately appeared on the ECW brand alongside Natalya. Later, Kidd allied with David Hart Smith and his real-life girlfriend, creating The Hart Dynasty. Kidd and Hart dominated the tag team division while The Queen of Harts was their manager.
Thanks for the submission!
After his partnership with David Hart Smith, Kidd continued working in the promotion as a singles wrestler and found success in the tag team division for the second time with Cesaro. Unfortunately, Kidd’s in-ring career ended when he suffered a serious injury.
In June 2015, the former Tag Team Champion suffered a spinal cord injury when a Muscle Buster went wrong. Tyson Kidd was forced to retire from in-ring competition, but didn’t leave the company. Instead, he became a producer behind the scenes and helped superstars in their journeys.
Today, the 46-year-old producer uploaded a picture on Instagram celebrating his 20th anniversary with the company. Kidd recalled the first conversation he had when they offered him a role in the company and showed his two-decade-long journey in the industry.
“On November 3/2006, I got a phone call from Mike Bucci asking if I’d like to work for @wwe I barely let him finish his sentence before I blurted out, “Yes, absolutely!” More ups than downs. More peaks than valleys. I’ve grown so much and discovered so much about who I am and what I’m made of working for WWE. I wouldn’t change a thing. Even the hardest moments have their place in my story. And you may notice one of these pics shows a broken screw in my neck… which probably explains a lot. 😂,” Wilson wrote on Instagram.
TJ Wilson never won a singles title in WWE
TJ Wilson, also known as Tyson Kidd, spent two decades in the Stamford-based promotion. In his first decade, Wilson was an in-ring performer and won the Tag Team Championship three times with two different superstars, David Hart Smith and Cesaro. In his final years, he went after the NXT Championship. While he didn’t win it, Kidd came close. After the injury, he never wrestled and never won a singles title in the Stamford-based promotion.
